Payment information
At present we offer all the following methods of payment.
By Online Payments
Payments for Council Services can be made online. If you have used this service in the past please note that our payment service has changed - please contact us using the details at the bottom of this page if you encounter any difficulties or read the new User Guide below.
By Direct Debit **NO DELAYS**
Direct debit can be used for paying council tax and national non-domestic rates. Please contact the Revenues Section with your bank account details in order to set up a Direct Debit. A form can be issued to you for completion (if preferred) although this will delay the process of collecting your payments.

By Telephone
Blaby District Council can now accept payment by debit and credit card on a 24 hour automated payment line. A charge of 1.65% (previously 1.5%) of the total transaction value will be made for transactions in excess of £50.00 when using a credit card.
Please telephone (0116) 272 7722 and have your debit/credit card to hand. You will need to quote the following information when you telephone:
- Name and Address
- Blaby District Council Account Reference Number
- Telephone Number
- Card Type
- Cardholder’s Name
- Cardholder’s Account Number
- “Valid From” date and “Expiry” date
- Issue Number (if applicable)
- Verification number (3 digits located on the reverse side of your card)
- Amount (£)
This call should take approx. 2 minutes.
In Person
At one of our cash offices; Main Council Offices, Braunstone Connect Service Shop, or Blaby Joint Service Shop.
Payment may also be made by credit or debit card, when paying in person or by telephone.
By Standing Order
Contact your bank and quote:
- Council’s bank details: HSBC Bank Plc, Blaby, Leicester;
- Sort Code: 40-12-35;
- Account No: 51285440;
- Account Name: Blaby District Council Head Office Collection A/c.
Please ensure that your account reference number is quoted.
At a Bank **DELAYS**
You should allow 7 clear working days to ensure that payment is received by the Council on the due date. The bank may make a charge for this service. This charge must be met by yourself and not deducted from your payment. You will need to contact the Revenues Section to obtain the necessary documentation.

Using a Bar Code at Allpay Outlets/Post Offices
Bar coded bills utilise the allpay.net payments network, which is well established and used by over 40 Councils and other organisations. Payments can be made at any of the 13,000 Post Offices and over 19,000 PayPoint outlets across the UK. Many outlets are open outside normal office hours and at weekends.

By Cheque in the Post **DELAYS**
Cheques should be made payable to Blaby District Council with your Account Reference Number quoted on the reverse side. Send the cheque to: Blaby District Council, Council Offices, Desford Road, Narborough, Leicestershire, LE19 2EP.
Please do not send post dated cheques.
Further information
**DELAYS** Delays in receiving payment could result in recovery action being taken.
