Summary

The statutory development plan for the District of Blaby comprises: The East Midlands Regional Plan (RSS), the Adopted Minerals Core Strategy and Development Control Policies document, the Adopted Waste Core Strategy and Development Control Policies document and the saved policies of the Council’s adopted Local Plan and eventually the Local Development Framework.

Development plans focus on spatial planning issues including land use, development and protection. The Coalition Government has stated its intention to undertake a radical review of the Development Plan System.

Further information

The components of the development plan for the District of Blaby are constantly being updated. The Regional Plan is likely to be the subject of a further mini-review following its expected adoption in spring 2009.
