Public Access

Planning Application Information System

PublicAccess Planning is an application that enables users to search, select and view Local Authority property and planning information online.

If this is the first time that you have used this facility please read the instructions below

What is Public Access?

Public Access for planning is our online Internet service that:

  • provides details of planning applications,
  • allows you to submit comments on current applications,
  • search a constantly updated list of applications received and determined each week,
  • view details of many historic applications,
  • view the location of applications by reference to a map.

Notes

This service continues to be developed and at the present time no constraint information or applications of special interest are available online.

Finding details of an application

Proceed to Public Access using the link at the top of this page. If the application number is known:

  1. click on Search for a Planning Application,
  2. enter the application number e.g. 01/2345,
  3. click on the search button and details of the application will be displayed.

If the application number is not known:

  1. click on Search for a Property
  2. follow the on screen instructions

Note: (The property database is at present being enhanced and unfortunately, at this stage, not every property in the District is listed.)

If you are unable to locate a particular application, please telephone one of our Customer Service Officers on 0116 272 7705 for further advice.

Viewing weekly lists of applications registered or determined

Enter Public Access using the link at the top of this page and select the appropriate date and type of list required. Further details of applications are available by clicking the button on the right hand side of the screen and on any of the tabs on the following screens.

Viewing Planning Applications Plans

The plan(s) submitted with planning applications received from 1st June 2005 are now available for inspection until the application is determined.

To view these documents you will need Adode Acrobat Reader available for free.

Images of plans, drawings and other material relevant to an application are made available on this site for public inspection purposes pursuant to section 47 of the Copyright, Design and Patents Act 1988 so that they can be inspected at a more convenient time or place than would otherwise be the case. Unless the 1988 Act provides relevant exception to copyright, the plans, drawings and other material on this site should not be copied without prior permission of the copyright owner.

In order to make these documents widely accessable, in particular to people with a dial up connection, it has been necessary to keep the file sizes reasonably small, but as a consequence some loss of definition has had to be accepted.

To view documents, locate the application as detailed above, click on the button on the right hand side of the screen and then the 'Associated Documents' tab.

Submitting comments on line

Locate the application as detailed above, click on the button on the right hand side of the screen and the 'Submit Comments'button on the following screen. Add your comments and submit them to the Council. Please note that in order not to delay the determination of applications there is a time limit on submitting comments and the 'Submit Comments' button will not be available if this time limit has past.

Viewing Decision Notices

Copies of decision notices are available for applications determined by this authority after 1st January 2005, and are updated on a weekly basis. To view a decision notice, locate an application as detailed above, click on the button on the right hand side of the screen, and then select the 'Associated Documents' tab.

General Information

We welcome your views on this new service, how easy it is to use, and what further enhancements you would like to see. Please e-mail your comments to planning@blaby.gov.uk.

The online planning history gives details, including the outcome, of applications considered during the past 25 years, but must not be used as a substitute for carrying out a formal Land Charge Search. No responsibility will be taken for any errors or omissions in the planning history information obtained from Public Access.

The information contained in Public Access does not constitute in any way a formal notification of a planning decision and, as such, any actions taken as a result of information displayed on this site are undertaken entirely at the viewer’s own risk.
