Community Advice

Our vision is that people can enjoy happy, healthy and independent lives, feeling involved and valued in their community.

Community Transport

Community Transport schemes provide services for people who have difficulty using or accessing public transport. These schemes are provided to help residents remain independent, keep actively involved in community life and reduce isolation.

There are two types of Community Transport scheme in Blaby District:

  • Community Action Partnership - a Social Car Scheme where volunteers use their cars to drive someone wherever they need to go
  • COMMBUS - Community bus services taking residents to shopping centres and on day trips

Charges apply for these services but it is usually less than the cost of other forms of public transport. Community Transport services are supported by Leicestershire County Council.
