Under the Representation of the People Act 1983 and the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013, the council is required to undertake a review of its polling districts, polling places and access arrangements by the end of January 2015.
The review commenced on 21st July 2014 and completed in sufficient time to enable any necessary alterations to be made prior to publication of the revised register of electors on 1st December 2014.
Representations and comments were sought from stakeholders including members of the District Council, Parish Councils and people who have particular expertise in relation to access to premises or facilities for persons with different forms of disability. Registered electors within the Blaby District authority area were also invited to make representation on the review.
Representations and comments were sent to the Electoral Services Team (by 12pm on 1st September 2014) and a report was considered and approved by the Council on 18th November.
