Leicester and Leicestershire Strategic Housing Market Assessment 2014-2036

The Strategic Housing Market Assessment for Leicester and Leicestershire provides an assessment of future housing need and the required mix, size and tenure of households, with the intention that this will inform development of planning policies across the sub-region and within its constituent local authority areas.

The SHMA analysis is based on secondary data which includes information from the census 2011, demographic projections, house prices, rents, income information and a range of other local, regional and national databases.  The approach taken by the consultanats (GL Hearn) is consistent with the Communities and Local Government (CLG) 2007 SHMA guidance and also the more recent CLG SHMA Practise Guidance issued in 2014.
