The Council started preparation of this document in Spring 2013 through a consultation asking what this document ought to contain. A summary of the consultation responses and the Council's response is set out in the Statement of Consultation.

The Council undertook a 'call for sites' exercise between November 2013 and January 2014 and invited representations from all parties (including Parish Councils, land owners, agents and developers etc.) to submit sites they wished to be considered for development through the Delivery DPD.

This call for sites covered all types of potential land uses, including housing, employment, retail, recreation, green spaces and others.
