Main Modifications Consultation
Statement of Procedure and Fact
Following the Examination Hearings in July and August, a small number of Main Modifications have been prepared at the suggestion of the Inspector in order to make the Delivery DPD sound. The Council is consulting on the Main Modifications and supporting documents for 6 weeks from 14 September until 26 October 2018:

Gypsy and Traveller and Travelling Show People 'Unknown Households'
Paper copies of the documents can be viewed (during opening hours) at the Council Offices and all libraries across the District.
All representations made on the Main Modifications will be taken into account by the Inspector before publishing her report. Representations can be made:

The Council has also prepared a schedule of Additional Modifications for clarity and completeness. The Additional Modifications do not affect the soundness of the Delivery DPD and therefore are not subject to consultation. Notice of Examination
The Blaby Local Plan (Delivery) Development Plan Document was submitted to the Secretary of State for examination on 23 March 2018. The Notice of Examination has now been published:

The Secretary of State has appointed Victoria Lucas LLB MCD MRTPI to undertake the independent examination into whether the Blaby District Local Plan Delivery Development Plan Document (DPD) is sound and complies with all the legal requirements. The criteria for soundness are whether the Plan's policies are positively prepared, justified, effective and consistent with national policy.
Carmel Edwards has been appointed as the Programme Officer for the examination and will deal with all procedural, administrative and programming matters. She is independent from the Council and reports directly to the Inspector. All correspondence or queries relating to the examination should be directed to the Programme Officer.

The Inspector will conduct a series of public hearings as part of the examination process. The Examination Hearings will start at 10.00am on Tuesday 31 July 2018. Further details are available on the Delivery DPD News webpage.
Car parking is available at the Weavers Court car park which is located next to the Council Offices and is accessible from Desford Road. Please note that this is a pay and display car park.

The Examination Library contains a list of documents submitted for examination and background documents have informed the production of the Local Plan Delivery DPD (Proposed Submission Version). It also contains documents relating to the examination, and will be updated as the examination progresses.
Consultation on the Blaby District Local Plan Delivery DPD (Proposed Submission Version) took place between 29 November 2017 and 18 January 2018. Representations received during this period are being sent to the Inspector as part of the evidence base for submission and can be viewed below.
